Lone Star 2017 Summer Camp programs will see children and
youth explore the Bible study theme LOVE LIVES.
Scripture tells us, “This is how we know what
love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we
ought to lay down our lives for our brothers and sisters.”
1 John 3:16 (NIV) and these words form the
core framework of the Bible study time for 2017 campers.
week participants will explore in some fashion the fact
that as human beings We Need Love and seek approval and
acceptance from those around us acting, dressing, and speaking
in ways we feel will befriend us with others. This struggle
points us to God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ who
loves us beyond measure. Campers will then see Love Lives
through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, our
debt paid once and for all through the love of the father.
We Respond to Love then through our lives and actions as
Christians alive in the world and sharing God’s love with
others. Campers will look at the two commands of Jesus,
love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul and mind
and love your neighbor as yourself. As we realize how much
God loves us and what He did for us through the cross and
the resurrection, we then respond with praise and thanksgiving,
with respect and obedience to our Lord. We also look to
our fellowman and treat them with honor and respect, giving
to others in need as we have been blessed, praying for those
who need help and sharing the Word with those who are desperate
and searching. So finally We Spread/Share God’s Love by
acknowledging God’s love and telling others our story of
salvation and the root of our faith.
